On the ground of the Annual Conference the Chairman of the Steering Committee of the Astana Civil Service Hub, Mr. Alikhan Baimenov held bilateral meetings with representatives of the authorized bodies of the civil service of Bangladesh, Maldives and Tajikistan.
The participants of the meeting expressed gratitude for the invitation to the Conference and discussed the possibility of strengthening cooperation through organizing joint capacity building activities for civil servants.
The Chairman also met with Mr. Keping Yao, Governance and Public Administration Expert at UNPOG of the UN DESA, Mr. Drago Kos, Chair of the OECD Working group on Bribery, Dr. Ali Farazmand, Professor of Public Administration at the Florida Atlantic University (USA), as well as with Mr. Neil Reichenberg, Executive Director of the International Public Management Association for Human Resources (USA).
Experts noted the dynamism of civil service reforms in the region and discussed the prospects of publishing a special issue of the Global Encyclopedia of Public Administration and Public Policy.
Mr. Alikhan Baimenov proposed to continue the mutually beneficial partnership within the framework of the Peer-to-Peer Alliance and the Hub’s Innovative Solutions Scheme.
During the event, Memorandums of Understanding were signed with the Civil Service Commission of the Republic of Maldives, the Institute of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan and the International Public Management Association for Human Resources. Within the framework of the MOUs it is planned to hold joint events, participate in workshops and scientific conferences on relevant topics of public administration.
