Chairman of the Steering Committee of the Regional Hub of Civil Service in Astana Alikhan Baimenov met with a delegation of the Secretariat of Global Relations of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).

During the meeting there were discussed a number of issues to strengthen further cooperation in the field of civil service. The Head of OECD Global Relations Secretariat William Thompson, noting the success of the Hub in the development of international cooperation, made a proposal to create a new platform with the participation of the Hub and other international organizations for implementing the OECD initiatives with a broader range of issues.

Alikhan Baimenov, in turn, emphasized the importance of the experience of OECD member countries and stressed the organization's contribution to the improvement of the civil service of Hub’s member countries, including joint seminars, trainings, round tables, conducted with the OECD Directorate for Public Governance and Territorial Development.

The Hub was  founded with the initiative of Kazakhstan in partnership with the UN Development Programme and established by 25 member countries, 5 international organizations. The OECD is one of the founders and parties of the Hub. Currently the Hub includes 34 member countries, and the expansion of the geography of countries from North America and Europe, the CIS, the Caucasus and Central Asia to ASEAN shows that partnership in order to improve the civil service is a universal necessity.
