September 30, 2014. The Regional Hub of Civil Service in Astana and UNDP Kazakhstan held a briefing for the diplomatic community, dedicated to the new phase of the Hub.
The briefing was attended by representatives of diplomatic missions of 37 countries and 6 international organizations, as well as Deputy Chairman of the Agency for Civil Service Affairs and Anti-Corruption Mr. Akhmetzhanov, Rector of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Mr. Abdrassilov and the Director of Administration and Control Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Mr. Sarzhanov.
In his speech, UN Resident Coordinator/UNDP Resident Representative in Kazakhstan Mr. Tull thanked all representatives of diplomatic missions for their active participation in the activities of the Regional hub and reported signed Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and UNDP on the allocation additional funding to support the Regional hub.
Chairman of the Steering Committee of the Regional Hub of Civil Service in Astana Mr. Baimenovunderlined that additional funding will strengthen the Secretariat of the Regional hub and create a newResearch Center of Civil Service. Thus, will create new opportunities and open up a new phase of theHub.
Mr. Baimenov also emphasized that one of the main priorities of the Hub is to be as useful as possible forthe Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as for the governments of countries of the region.
Deputy Chairman of the Agency for Civil Service Affairs and Anti-Corruption Mr. Akhmetzhanov on behalf of the Agency also noted the importance of the agreement and expressed readiness to take an active partin the working groups and the Steering Committee of the Regional hub.
In his presentation the Head of the Research Center of the Regional Hub Mr. Zharkeshov spoke in detail about the new trends, directions and prospects of the Regional Hub in Astana.
Representatives of the diplomatic community noted the high capacity of the Regional Hub and on behalfof the represented countries expressed their interest to participate in its activities.
