Chairman of the Steering Committee of the Regional Hub of Civil Service in Astana Alikhan Baimenov participated in the fourth Global Public Human Resource Development Conference hosted in Seoul.
During the conference, participants discussed the role of educational institutions for civil servants for the promotion of innovative projects in public authorities. Also during the event, representatives of the different countries shared their experience and knowledge in the field of civil servants training. The Global Conference is held annually since 2013 by the Korean National Human Resource Development Institute.
In his speech Alikhan Baimenov said: " in the uncertain and volatile world that we live in, an increasing attention is given to the quality of human resources. Importantly, the public sector should play a significant role in creating conditions for growth and opportunities for realization of the human potential. Enhancing capacities of public servants influences the competitiveness and the efficiency of economies and countries in general."
Dean of Graduate School of Public Policy at Nazarbayev University Dr. Weng Tat Hui spoke about training of Kazakhstani civil servants in the conference.
As part of a visit to Korea, Alikhan Baimenov met with the President of the Korean National Human Resource Development Institute Dr. Oak Dong-suk, Director General of European Institute of Public Administration (EU) Dr. Marga Prohl, Director of the International Leadership Development of the Personnel Management Office (US) Fletcher Honemond and President of the Asian Association for Public Administration Pan Suk Kim.
